A former PGA tour-stop course set among Windsor's vineyards and lakes.
Daily
Visit WebsiteA round on holes two and seven — both ranked among the tour's ten toughest during Windsor's professional-event years — on a championship course wrapped in Sonoma County vineyards.
Windsor Golf Club is the former tour-stop course of central Sonoma County — an eighteen-hole layout designed by Frederick C. Bliss, ASGCA, that opened in 1989 and went on to host PGA Nationwide Tour and Nike Tour events through the 1990s. The course sits in a landscape uncluttered by neighboring homes, surrounded by Sonoma County vineyards and the Mayacamas in the distance: lakes, a meandering creek, and mature oaks across a gently rolling site. It is championship-pedigree golf at a public-course price.
The layout plays par 72 over roughly 6,650 yards, rating 71.7, slope 127. Holes two and seven were both consistently ranked among the tour's ten most difficult during Windsor's professional-event years, yet the course as a whole is relatively forgiving — strategic enough for serious players, playable enough for casual rounds. An extensive fairway sanding program keeps Windsor a twelve-month course, which suits the year-round wine tasting available immediately outside the course boundaries. Charlie's Restaurant overlooks the lakeside finish, and a full grass driving range with separate chipping and putting greens rounds out the facility. Windsor sets the standard for value golf in the North Bay.
