Locale Terroir (we, us, or our) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what choices you have. It applies to localeterroir.com and related services (the Site).
1.1 Information you provide directly: contact form, newsletter, or inquiry (name, email, message); paid listing subscription (business name, contact name, email, phone, payment information via our third-party processor, uploaded images and content); account creation (name, email, password); and email correspondence. 1.2 Information collected automatically: IP address and approximate location; browser, operating system, and device identifiers; pages visited, referring URLs, and timestamps; and cookies and similar technologies. 1.3 Information from third parties: information from analytics providers, payment processors, and email delivery services we use to operate the Site.
We use your information to provide, operate, and improve the Site and our services; respond to inquiries and provide support; process paid subscriptions and payments; publish content submitted by subscribing businesses under the Advertising & Listing Agreement; send transactional emails (receipts, notifications, renewal reminders); send marketing emails where you have opted in (unsubscribe anytime); analyze how the Site is used; detect and prevent fraud and abuse; and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with: service providers who help operate the Site (hosting, analytics, email, payment processing), who are contractually bound to protect it; authorities or legal parties when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect rights; and successors in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, in which case you will be notified. Content you submit for public listing publication (business name, description, photos, logo, label artwork) is made public on the Site by design.
4.1 California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell (we do not sell); to request a copy; to request correction; to request deletion, subject to legal exceptions; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (we do neither); to limit the use of sensitive personal information; and to be free from retaliation for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these, email hello@localeterroir.com with the subject line Privacy Request; we will respond within 45 days. 4.2 Other jurisdictions: if you reside elsewhere, similar rights may apply — contact us to exercise them.
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to operate, remember your preferences, and understand usage: essential cookies (login, form submission); analytics cookies; and preference cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some may affect functionality.
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described or as required by law. Account information is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward. Submitted listing content may be retained up to 90 days after cancellation to support reactivation, then deleted unless retention is legally required.
The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
The Site is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., your information is transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S., which may have different data-protection laws than your jurisdiction.
We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be posted with a new Last updated date and, where appropriate, registered users notified by email.
