Healdsburg is where Sonoma County's wine country reputation crystallizes into something you can walk through. The town centers on a square of grass and oaks ringed by tasting rooms, restaurants, and the kind of independent shops that have been here for generations alongside the new arrivals. Three appellations meet at the city limits — Russian River Valley, Dry Creek Valley, and Alexander Valley — and the hotels know it. Hospitality here is built around a guest who came for the wine and stayed for the rhythm.
The hotels of Healdsburg run from the historic Hotel Healdsburg on the Plaza to Single Thread's three guest suites above its three-Michelin-star restaurant, to Montage's hilltop estate, to Madrona's reborn 1881 mansion. Concierges here know which winery has the morning light right, which restaurant is worth the drive to Geyserville, and when the Plaza farmers market is at its peak. This is the city in Sonoma where you can leave your car parked for three days and want for nothing.

Appellation Healdsburg is the newest luxury hotel in Sonoma County, opened fall 2025. Created by Chef Charlie Palmer and hotelier Christopher Hunsberger, this culinary-forward property is connected to Montage Healdsburg via a short trail and centers its experience around Sonoma's rich food and wine heritage.

The Camellia Inn is a nine-room bed and breakfast in an 1869 Italianate Victorian mansion two blocks from Healdsburg Plaza, named for the 50+ varieties of camellias on the property. Family-owned with daily breakfast, evening wine receptions, and a garden pool.
