Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens is California's most-visited winery destination — and one of the few large-format producers in Sonoma to genuinely deliver on the promise of a farm-to-table wine experience. Founded in 1982, the brand built its reputation on America's best-selling Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay; the Wine Estate & Gardens in Fulton is its flagship visitor center, anchored by 2.5 acres of culinary sensory gardens designed by farmer Tucker Taylor. The Jackson Family is the largest landowner of organic vineyards in California — the program at the Estate is sustainability-certified, garden-driven, and unusually serious about food and wine pairing for a winery of its scale.
Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay — The wine that made K-J a household name: a fruit-forward, lightly oaked Chardonnay sourced from cool coastal vineyards across Sonoma, Mendocino, Monterey and Santa Barbara. Served at the Reagan White House and long among America's best-selling Chardonnays.
Jackson Estate Trace Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon, Knights Valley — A mountain-grown estate Cabernet from the warm Knights Valley AVA, structured and ageworthy.
Grand Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma County — A step up from the Vintner's Reserve, built on estate-grown fruit with blackberry, blueberry and spice.
Vintner's Reserve Merlot, Sonoma County — Plush and approachable, with plum and soft tannins.
Vintner's Reserve Sauvignon Blanc — Round and juicy, a crisp coastal white.
Founded in 1982 by Jess Jackson, whose debut Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay helped cement the variety's place in California, Kendall-Jackson farms estate vineyards across Northern California's coastal regions — including Knights Valley — and was an early leader in sustainable winegrowing.
The Estate sits on roughly four acres of culinary, sensory, and demonstration gardens, all of which feed the kitchen led by Executive Chef Justin Wangler. Reservations are required for tasting experiences and run daily from 10:30am to the last seating at 3:30pm; same-day bookings are sometimes available, but Friday through Monday are the busiest days. The Chef's Curated Seasonal Pairing matches limited-production wines with original bites built from the day's harvest; the Jackson Estate Collection tasting walks through the ultra-premium portfolio sourced from family-owned vineyards across California. Garden Tour & Tasting experiences run April through October. Dogs are welcome on the outdoor patio, and the gardens are open to walk through with a bottle purchase or shop visit even without a reservation. Closed New Year's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Kris Kato became Head Winemaker of Kendall-Jackson in September 2025, taking the reins from Randy Ullom — who guided the winery for more than three decades and now serves as Winery Ambassador. Founded by Jess Jackson, whose 1982 Vintner's Reserve became and remains America's best-selling Chardonnay, Kendall-Jackson is a flagship of Barbara Banke's Jackson Family Wines, drawing on cool, coastal estate vineyards across California. Kato joined in 2014 and shaped the acclaimed Central Coast program before stepping up to lead the full winemaking team, committed to the terroir-driven, quality-at-scale style — and the famously all-barrel-aged Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay — that define the brand.

Executive Chef Justin Wangler leads the culinary program at the Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate & Gardens, where food-and-wine pairing is the centerpiece of the visitor experience. Drawing on the estate's extensive culinary gardens and orchards in Santa Rosa, he creates seasonal, farm-to-table pairings designed around the Jackson family's wines. Under his direction the estate has become one of Sonoma County's definitive wine-and-food destinations, home to the annual Heirloom Tomato Festival and a range of immersive tasting experiences.
