Forestville Certified Farmers' Market

Forestville's certified farmers' market is a Tuesday-evening affair, 4:30 to 7:30pm through the summer, in the small park at the heart of downtown, under the oaks and at the trailhead of the West County Trail. The Forestville Chamber of Commerce sponsors it, and it keeps a village scale: local farmers, specialty food makers and arts and crafts stalls, with hot food and baked goods so most people shop and eat in the same visit.

Come for the light. A late-afternoon market in the shade catches the best of a Russian River summer evening, when the heat has eased and the town drifts over after work. It is the kind of place where a bag of tomatoes and a plate of supper come from stalls a few steps apart, and nobody is rushing anyone along.

For visitors it is an easy window into West County life: a weeknight outing that needs no reservation, at the end of a day among the vineyards and orchards around Forestville.
