Windsor Certified Farmers' Market (Sunday)

Sunday mornings from April into early December, the Windsor Town Green in Old Downtown Windsor fills with the Windsor Certified Farmers Market. Growers bring fruit, vegetables, meats, fish, honey and eggs; food makers add bread, cheese and preserves; local artists fill out the rows. In summer the market also runs on Thursday evenings, as part of the Summer Nights on the Green concert series. The market sets up at McClelland Drive and Market Street, on the green at the center of town.

Windsor runs its market like a town calendar, and that is why it is worth a Sunday. It is relaxed and family-paced, with a lawn to spread out on and neighbors who come as much for the company as for the vegetables. The market season tracks the farming year closely, so each month brings a different table.

The Town Green sits at the heart of Windsor, which makes it an easy morning before an afternoon among the Russian River Valley wineries to the west.
