Liora Estate opened in April 2026 as the newest chapter of one of Healdsburg's most layered hospitality stories. The 16-room boutique property has worn three names in 20 years — first Hotel Les Mars, then 27 North, now Liora — and each iteration has refined what the building does best: limestone façade, wrought ironwork, dramatic interior finishes, a 17th-century Flemish tapestry hanging in the lobby, walnut-paneled library lined with leather-bound books. The 16 suites feature 17th- and 18th-century antiques, fireplaces, en-suite luxurious bathrooms, deep soaking tubs, vinyl record players, and access to a curated music library. Rooted in the meaning of its name — "my light" — the rebrand was designed by Foley Entertainment Group around warmth, atmosphere, and a slower rhythm of hospitality.
Central to the new identity is Maréla, a coastal European wine bistro replacing the previous Chalkboard restaurant. The shareable menu draws from Mediterranean seaside traditions — house-made focaccia, Liora's Voyage oysters, lobster salad with seaweed crostini, King Crab cavatelli, Sole Meunière, and a Côte de Boeuf built for two. Daily rituals shape the stay: a welcome aperitif on arrival, an elevated Sonoma coffee ritual, a daily wine hour with curated pours and vinyl in the library lounge, and at sundown an Atmosphere Ritual where lighting softens, candles are lit, and music slows. Membership in Preferred Hotels & Resorts Lifestyle Collection remains in place. The location off Healdsburg Plaza puts guests within a short walk of every restaurant and tasting room in town.
