Vinarosa Resort & Spa is the reimagined identity of what was Vintners Resort for forty years — a 78-room luxury property on a 92-acre working vineyard estate in Santa Rosa. The transformation was completed in July 2025 by Long Beach–based Ensemble Hospitality, with a $15M renovation that touched every guestroom, the lobby, the meeting spaces, and the property's exterior. Interiors by ARCSINE draw on Provençal palettes — plum, olive, honey, lavender, and grape — balanced by oak and walnut, with curated relics and heirloom artwork that thread a multigenerational narrative through every space. The history runs deeper than the new name suggests: founded in 1983 by nuclear-engineer-turned-grape-grower John Duffy, owned by Don and Rhonda Carano from 2000 to 2017, and now in Ensemble's hands.

The signature John Ash & Co. restaurant — one of the original Wine Country dining institutions — continues under Executive Chef Sergio Howland, with a reimagined farm-to-table menu drawn from the property's culinary gardens, fig and olive orchards, and working vineyard. The spa was renamed and refreshed as The Spa at Vinarosa, and a new resort-style pool, expanded retail area, and 12,000 square feet of refreshed event spaces round out the property. Recycled water cares for the vineyards. The 78 rooms each capture vineyard or fountain views from private patios or balconies. The central Santa Rosa location places guests within easy reach of Healdsburg, Sonoma Valley, and the Russian River Valley.

General Manager

Hotel Highlight

Michael Collins is general manager of Vinarosa Resort & Spa, the publicly identified face of the property through its 2025 rebrand and reopening. He oversaw the operational side of the $15M Ensemble Hospitality transformation that retired the Vintners Resort name and reintroduced the property as Vinarosa, and he remains the daily steward of the 92-acre vineyard estate and its 78 guestrooms.

John Ash & Co., the on-property restaurant, was the first Sonoma County restaurant to introduce the concept of cooking seasonally with fresh, local foods — a 1980 distinction that effectively launched the farm-to-table movement in California wine country. The 92-acre working vineyard estate was reimagined as Vinarosa in 2025 with ARCSINE-designed Provençal-inspired interiors and a new resort pool, anchoring Ensemble Hospitality's Sonoma footprint.
