dine in kenwood
Dine in Kenwood, in the upper Sonoma Valley between the Mayacamas and Sonoma Mountain, with vineyards at every edge. These are the tables the town keeps for itself, chosen by the people who live and work here.
Salt and Stone serves steaks, seafood and California standards along Highway 12 in Kenwood, with a vineyard-side patio. Executive chef Enrique Alcaraz's menu runs from grilled octopus, steak tartare and ahi poke to steaks up to bone-in cuts with a table-side salt sampler. Monday to Wednesday Bistro Nights bring three courses for $35, and local wines come by the carafe.

Chef Ari Weiswasser's second restaurant, after Glen Ellen Star, cooks California-Italian on Highway 12 in Kenwood around an open fire. Dinner starts with morning-baked focaccia and the mozzarella bar, then moves to bucatini cacio e pepe, lobster ravioli, whole roasted fish or tomahawk steak from the plancha. Sonoma and Napa wines and low-proof cocktails pour alongside.
