Wine Focus
Russian River Valley focus, deep in small-production Pinot Noir and Chardonnay; Sonoma and Mendocino microbrews.

Boon Eat + Drink is chef Crista Luedtke's small dining room on Main Street in Guerneville, opened in the summer of 2009. It belongs to a wider family of Boon businesses that includes boon hotel + spa and the El Barrio bar, and the kitchen takes its cue from what grows in the garden. The room is intimate by design: there are no reservations except for private parties, walk-in groups are capped at six, and a wait is part of the ritual, easily spent over a glass of wine or a cocktail at El Barrio. Luedtke is among the river's longest-running chef-owners, regional writers treat Boon as the town's cornerstone, and people do drive out along the river for a table.

Menu Highlights
Flash Fried Brussels Sprouts
chili flakes, garlic, lemon, olive oil
Boon Mac-N-Cheese
mycopia mushrooms, truffle breadcrumbs
Polenta Lasagna
rainbow chard, spicy marinara, ricotta salata
Braised Pork Shoulder
creamy polenta, ricotta salata, fiesta slaw
Roasted Cauliflower
whipped tahini, sumac pickled shallots, crispy chickpeas
Roasted Chicken
charred cabbage, apples, Japanese sweet potatoes, miso butter

The menu reads as a modern California bistro: small plates, salads and seasonal main courses built on organic produce where possible, artisan cheeses and Sonoma County meats, with the garden setting the rhythm through the year. Start with a few shared plates, add a salad, and let a larger dish anchor the table; the truffle fries have long been a reliable opener. The wine list keeps close to home, favoring Russian River producers with depth in small-production Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, while the beer list holds to Sonoma and Mendocino microbrews. Dinner runs Wednesday through Sunday from 4 p.m. Arrive early on summer weekends, when river visitors fill the room, and note that weekend take-out orders close at 6 p.m.
