Handmade pasta, a firewood oven and a menu that leans toward the sea set the tone at this downtown Santa Rosa osteria. Begin with shrimp or beef carpaccio and the Capriciano graze platter, then move on to lamb shank, Ora King salmon or a Margherita from the oven. Dinner is served every night but Tuesday.

Capriciano Osteria opened in the summer of 2026 at 505 Mendocino Avenue in downtown Santa Rosa, in the space that last held Tipsy Taco and, before it, the Acapulco Lounge. It is the restaurant of chef Baki Bekci, who grew up in his family's restaurant in Fethiye, on Türkiye's Turquoise Coast, and who now cooks Italian and Italian-American classics with ingredients from local farms and producers. He wants dinner here to be a whole evening rather than a quick transaction, with guests who leave happy and come back again. The room seats 89 and the terrace about fifty more. Still a young kitchen, it is already finding its following.

Baki Bekci founded Capriciano Osteria and leads its kitchen. He trained at Fethiye Culinary College, cooked in Cyprus, Athens and Dubrovnik, and worked in Four Seasons kitchens in Istanbul, Los Angeles and Napa Valley. In 2024 he founded Mezzeluna in Cotati, a Greek restaurant with Turkish influence, before opening his Italian osteria in downtown Santa Rosa.
