The Weber family's downtown Petaluma bakery and cafe shapes Pain de Campagne, polenta and pumpkin seed loaves before dawn, along with a Meyer lemon and rosemary bread. Breakfast and lunch build on them: ricotta toast with Bellwether ricotta and honey, the Della scramble, eggs Benedict, a chicken salad sandwich on levain. Thursday through Sunday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Della Fattoria is the Weber family's bakery and cafe on Petaluma Boulevard North, in a historic building that has housed bakeries for more than 150 years. The story began in a home kitchen: Kathleen Weber started baking Italian-style bread in 1995, and that same year The French Laundry became a client after the Sonoma Mission Inn, where her son Aaron cooked, ordered loaves for an event. The bakery grew with Kathleen, her husband Ed and their children, and the downtown cafe followed in 2004; today her daughter Elisa Weber is a co-owner, and the family has kept the ovens going for three decades. Bon Appétit has named Della Fattoria among the top bread bakeries in the United States, and Kathleen's cookbook was a finalist for a James Beard Foundation Book Award in 2015.

Elisa Weber co-owns Della Fattoria, the Petaluma bakery and café that grew from a single wood-fired oven on the Weber family ranch. She oversees the café and its hospitality, from the front of house and the floral program to the family's events and farm rentals, and holds the bakery to local, organic bread made by hand seven days a week.
