The El Dorado Hotel's restaurant faces Sonoma Plaza, and its shaded rear courtyard is the place for a long lunch with a glass of local wine. Chef Armando Navarro brings Latin American touches to a wood-fired, farm-driven menu: seafood paella, mushroom pizza, risotto, churros with dulce de leche. EDK Cantina sells tacos from a Spain Street window daily.

El Dorado Kitchen is the restaurant of the El Dorado Hotel, a historic building on the west side of Sonoma Plaza at First Street West. The hotel, owned by Mosaic Hotel Group, reopened after a renovation that refreshed the dining room and patio, and executive chef Armando Navarro now leads the kitchen, folding Latin American flavors into a menu built on local, seasonal ingredients. The defining feature remains the sheltered courtyard patio behind the hotel, a lovely place to sit on the Plaza on a warm afternoon. Because it is the hotel's own restaurant, the room keeps an all-day rhythm, and it serves hotel guests, visitors and locals alike from morning to evening.

Armando Navarro has led the kitchen at El Dorado Kitchen on Sonoma Plaza since 2011. Born in Michoacán, Mexico, he cooked at Le Bernardin, Jean-Georges, Daniel, Jardinière and Masa's, was executive sous chef at Auberge du Soleil and chef de cuisine at Redd in Yountville, and he also leads the food at EDK Cantina on Spain Street.
