Naples-born Domenico De Angelis and Roberto Sbaraglia brought their Santa Rosa pizzeria to Petaluma in 2025, styling an 1870 brick building like a Neapolitan street. Pizzas come from a wood-fired oven built in Naples, joined by fried calamari, truffled potato croquettes, branzino baked in a potato crust and tiramisu in a moka pot. The room runs loud and family-friendly.

L'Oro di Napoli opened in Petaluma in early March 2025, the second restaurant from Naples native Domenico De Angelis and partner Roberto Sbaraglia, whose original L'Oro di Napoli on Fourth Street in Santa Rosa built a loyal following. The setting is the headline: an 8,000-square-foot brick building from 1870 in downtown Petaluma's historic commercial district, most recently home to Thai Issan and now dressed as a Neapolitan street. Exposed brick, high ceilings and tall windows frame shuttered faux windows that overlook the dining room and bar, and a faux balcony hangs above the tables. The noise is part of the plan, meant to evoke Naples, and a Pompeii-style wood-fired oven imported from Naples anchors the kitchen.

Domenico De Angelis is a Naples-born pizzaiuolo who learned the wood-fired oven growing up in the city's Montesanto district. After cooking his way across Europe to California, he opened the original L'Oro di Napoli in Santa Rosa in 2022 with Roberto Sbaraglia, then brought it to Petaluma in 2025, around a Pompeii-style oven imported from Naples.

Roberto Sbaraglia, a Rome native, became business partners with Domenico De Angelis in California and helped build L'Oro di Napoli from its 2022 Santa Rosa debut to the 2025 Petaluma location. He oversees the front of house and the deliberately theatrical, family-style hospitality the restaurant is known for.
