Valley Ford Cheese & Creamery is the café and cheese counter of the Bianchi-Moreda family, whose dairy ranch near this small coastal village dates to 1918. The menu centers on the farm's own cheeses, Estero Gold and the fontina-style Highway 1 among them, served on boards and in grilled sandwiches, with pastries, local wine and beer.

Valley Ford Cheese & Creamery is the storefront of a dairy family that has worked the land around this small Highway 1 village for more than a century. Karen Bianchi-Moreda's Northern Italian great-grandparents founded the ranch in 1918, and today it covers 640 acres. For decades the family's Jersey herd supplied milk to other creameries, including Bellwether Farms, until they began making their own cheese in 2008. The fifth generation now carries the work forward: Joe Moreda Jr. makes the cheese, and his brother Jim tends the herd. The café, market and cheese-aging room opened together in downtown Valley Ford, giving travelers on the coast road a place to taste the farm's wheels close to where they are made, at indoor tables, at barstools or on a dog-friendly patio.

Karen Bianchi-Moreda founded Valley Ford Cheese & Creamery, a fourth-generation Sonoma Coast dairywoman whose family has run the 640-acre Mountain View Jersey Dairy since 1918. Her Estero Gold and Highway 1 cheeses have earned California cheese awards and World Cheese Championship gold, and the café in downtown Valley Ford brings the farm's cheeses to travelers on the coast road.

Joe Moreda Jr. makes the cheese at Valley Ford Cheese & Creamery, carrying the family's dairy into its fifth generation. Milk from the family's Jersey herd, raised just down the road, goes into nearly everything the creamery serves, from aged and fresh cheeses to soft-serve ice cream, grilled cheese sandwiches and lattes.
