Mark and Terri Stark's first restaurant lost its 1886 roadhouse to the 2017 Tubbs Fire and reopened in 2019 in Santa Rosa's Town & Country Center. Small plates from many cuisines, such as tuna tartare tacos and barbecued oysters, arrive as they are ready, and most wines pour in two-ounce tastes for side-by-side Sonoma comparisons.

Willi's Wine Bar opened in August 2002 in a landmark 1886 roadhouse on Old Redwood Highway, the first restaurant from Mark and Terri Stark, who have since built a family of restaurants across Sonoma County. For fifteen years the little roadhouse was a Santa Rosa institution, earning early praise from Wine Spectator for its list, Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition and a place on the San Francisco Chronicle's Top 100 Bay Area Restaurants. In October 2017 the Tubbs Fire destroyed the building. The Starks chose to begin again, and in May 2019 Willi's reopened in the Town & Country Center in the McDonald Mansion neighborhood, closer to downtown. Longtime guests followed it there, and the restaurant marked twenty years in 2022, a story of resilience as much as of good food and wine.

Mark Stark trained at the Culinary Institute of America and cooked in Washington, D.C., and Seattle, then worked as a regional chef for the California Cafe Restaurant Group before opening Willi's Wine Bar with Terri Stark in 2002. He leads the kitchens across their Stark Reality group, and the Starks were 2013 James Beard semifinalists for Outstanding Restaurateur.

Terri Stark co-owns Stark Reality Restaurants with chef Mark Stark, a Sonoma County group that began with Willi's Wine Bar in Santa Rosa in 2002 and Willi's Seafood & Raw Bar in Healdsburg in 2003. She handles front-of-house operations for all of the group's restaurants, shaping the hospitality guests meet in each dining room.
