California Wine Tours is the oldest and largest wine country transportation company in Northern California. Mike Marino started it in 1986 with a single Cadillac, working out of Napa as a teenager raised in the valley. Forty years later, the company runs over 160 vehicles — sedans, Suburbans, Sprinters, mini-buses, motor coaches, and a growing fleet of environmentally certified vehicles — and employs more than 220 people. The 2003 acquisition of Evans Transportation made it the default for visitors arriving through SFO, OAK, STS, and the Napa County FBO. CA PUC TCP #9679 A.
What sets California Wine Tours apart is the consistency of its drivers. Many have worked the valley fifteen or twenty years, and the firm's practice of paying above-industry wages with full benefits has translated into one of the lowest turnover rates in the region. The result is what regulars come back for: a guide who knows the appointment-only tasting rooms, the right lunch reservation, and which winery's host poured for them last month. Service formats range from custom private tours to wedding logistics to motor-coach group tours. Booking minimums start at $403.95. The Sonoma footprint is genuine — not a Napa company that occasionally crosses the bridge — and the firm appears on Sonoma County Tourism's editorial transportation list.

Founder & CEO
Founder, President, and CEO of California Wine Tours. Mike Marino was raised in Napa Valley and started the company in 1986 as a teenager with a single Cadillac, against the advice of friends who thought wine country tourists wouldn't pay for limousine service. Forty years later, he runs over 160 vehicles and 220 employees — the largest chauffeured fleet in Northern California. Marino's training programs, regulatory advocacy, and 2003 acquisition of Evans Transportation built the operation into Northern California's wine country anchor. He attended Santa Rosa Junior College and remains hands-on as president and CEO of the company he founded as a high school student.
