Aldina Vineyards is a small family estate in the Fountaingrove District, growing Cabernet Sauvignon on the volcanic hillside above Santa Rosa where Al López first planted a few acres of his favorite Cabernet clone as a hobby vineyard. Today the estate sits high on the Mayacamas-side ridgeline at the edge of Sonoma's newest AVA — warm by day, moderated by Pacific air drawn in through the Sonoma Mountain gap. The López family deliberately sought out a Latina winemaker, and Belén Ceja has shaped the program from its early single-Cabernet focus into a broader portfolio that now includes Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, rosé of Cabernet, and a Bordeaux-style red blend.

Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Fountaingrove District — The flagship: a deep, structured mountain Cabernet from the family's Mayacamas ridgeline estate; dark cherry, black currant and vanilla.

Bacchus Blend, Sonoma County — A polished Bordeaux-style red blend built around the estate Cabernet.

Chardonnay, Los Carneros — A clean, fresh, lightly creamy white with crisp apple and citrus; not an oak bomb.

Sauvignon Blanc, Sonoma County — A vibrant, aromatic white with citrus, lemon zest, Asian pear and guava.

Aldina Vineyards is a boutique, family-owned winery founded by siblings Monica and Francisco López and named for their parents, Alberto and Dina. Its estate Cabernet grows at roughly 1,200 feet in the Fountaingrove District AVA of the Mayacamas, crafted by winemaker Belén Ceja; a Rosé of Cabernet rounds out the range. Tastings are poured at Bacchus Landing in Healdsburg.

Aldina Vineyards is a family estate founded by Al and Dina López (the label is a portmanteau of their names), with daughter Mónica López — president of the Mexican-American Vintners Association — managing the business and the Bacchus Landing tasting room. Winemaker Belén Ceja produces about 1,500 cases per year, anchored by estate Cabernet Sauvignon grown on Fountaingrove's red volcanic mountain soils, alongside Chardonnay sourced from Ceja Vineyards in Carneros and a small program of whites, rosé, and a Bordeaux-style blend. The Bacchus Landing setting is Mediterranean-style — a piazza, rooftop deck, and six small tasting rooms shared among family-owned wineries — a welcoming alternative to traditional single-estate tasting experiences. Al and Dina's original Fountaingrove home was lost in the 2017 Tubbs Fire; the family has rebuilt their vineyards since.

Winemaker

Daughter of veteran Sonoma-Napa winemaker Armando Ceja of Ceja Vineyards, Belén grew up in Napa and Sonoma Valleys and earned an Associate's degree from Santa Rosa Junior College before completing her B.A.Sc. in Viticulture and Enology at Cal State Fresno in 2013. She did cellar work for four years as an intern at Enkidu Wines in Sonoma, then became winery supervisor and enologist at Heirs of My Dream — the custom-crush facility she co-owns with her sister Ellie — where she was named Director of Wine Production three years later. The López family of Aldina sought out a Latino winemaker as a deliberate cultural alignment, and Ceja has shaped the program from its early single-Cabernet focus into a broader portfolio that now includes Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, rosé of Cabernet, and a Bordeaux-style red blend. She makes the Aldina wines at Heirs of My Dream, working at the small-lot scale the family estate supports.

A Latina business leader, Monica also serves as general manager of Bacchus Landing, the Healdsburg hospitality complex where Aldina pours, and has made championing women and Latino vintners central to the family’s mission. Aldina is best known for its estate Cabernet Sauvignon.
