On a 2021 bike ride near home, Elizabeth and Tucker Stein spotted a 'For Sale' sign on a farm flanked by Los Carneros vineyards. They named it Cassidy Ranch, pairing organic Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Merlot with a working farm — u-pick flowers, pumpkins, a farm shop, and pickleball.

Cassidy Ranch is the Sonoma project Elizabeth and Tucker Stein never knew they were looking for. In spring 2021, the couple — new to Sonoma from San Francisco — were on a bike ride when they came across a small farm with a "For Sale" sign, flanked by Los Carneros vineyards. They bought the 5-acre property that summer, naming it after a road and family connection, and set about restoring land that had once supplied produce to San Francisco's Bi-Rite Market and, before that, raised cattle and dairy cows. The vision: a Sonoma farm experience oriented around community gathering — u-pick produce and flowers, seasonal events, a pumpkin patch, and yes, wine.
Estate Pinot Noir, Los Carneros — The flagship release from the 10-acre organically farmed Carneros vineyard; bright, food-friendly, and small-production.
Estate Rosé, Los Carneros — A dry, estate-grown rosé poured alongside the farm's u-pick flowers and produce.
Cassidy Ranch is a young organic estate (first vines 2021); estate Chardonnay and Merlot are maturing toward future release.
The vineyard side of the operation is 10 acres of organically farmed Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Merlot in the Los Carneros AVA — the bay-influenced corner of Sonoma where morning fog, midday sun, afternoon winds, and cool nights deliver delicate, structurally complex fruit. The farm side grows over 100 varieties of flowers, fruit, vegetables, and herbs, and the property functions as a hybrid: organic vineyard, working farm, tasting room, farm shop, pickleball court, and event space. Hours are Thursday through Monday, 10am to 4pm; reservations are recommended on weekends.

One spring afternoon in 2021, Elizabeth and Tucker Stein — newly arrived in Sonoma from San Francisco — were on a bike ride near their home when they stopped at a "For Sale" sign in front of a small farm flanked by Carneros vineyards. They weren't looking for property; they bought it that summer anyway and named it Cassidy Ranch. The Steins live on the ranch and oversee the farming and vineyard operations themselves, along with their son Wesley and border collie Stella, reviving acreage that once grew produce for San Francisco's Bi-Rite Market. The ten-acre estate vineyard — Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Merlot — is farmed without herbicides, pesticides, or synthetic inputs, shaped by the San Pablo Bay's morning fog, afternoon winds, and cool nights.
