The Olivet Road estate sits on 20 acres of certified organic and biodynamic vineyards on the Olivet Bench, with a half-acre culinary garden used in biodynamic compost preparations, grazing sheep, laying chickens, and a "Theatre of Nature" that visitors explore via self-guided tour. Tasting flights focus on estate-grown Pinot Noir and Chardonnay crafted using hand-crafted Burgundian techniques — open-top wood fermentors, native yeast, hand punch-downs. The Estate Tasting runs daily (Thu–Sun, 11am–2:30pm); the Earth & Sky tour adds a walking tour of the biodynamic grounds with an artisanal cheese plate. Also on the property: the Kitchen Memories Collection, a permanent display of antique culinary tools, and an outdoor pizza oven available for small-fee rental. Family- and dog-friendly.
Katie Carter joined DeLoach in 2006 as enologist after a harvest at Mulderbosch Vineyards in South Africa and stints at Tandem Winery and Greg & Greg Custom Crush in Sebastopol. She was promoted through assistant winemaker to winemaker, and now leads the day-to-day cellar program. She works closely with Brian Maloney, who joined DeLoach for the 2003 harvest (the year Boisset acquired the property) and has since risen to VP of Winemaking for Boisset Collection's Sonoma County properties — DeLoach, Buena Vista, JCB by Jean-Charles Boisset, and Wattle Creek. Maloney grew up on his family's Petaluma Gap ranch, earned his viticulture and enology degree at UC Davis, and was instrumental in elevating DeLoach's Pinot Noir program and establishing the winery's biodynamic estate vineyard. The DeLoach approach is intentionally Burgundian — open-top wood fermentors, native yeasts, hand punch-downs (pigeage), gentle destemming, and aging in French oak — applied to a 17-acre Olivet Bench estate certified biodynamic and organic. Vineyard-designate bottlings come from Maboroshi, Pennacchio, Stubbs, and other premium Russian River, Marin, and Mendocino sites.
Jean-Charles Boisset is the proprietor of DeLoach Vineyards, which his family’s Boisset Collection acquired in 2003. Raised in Burgundy, where his parents founded their winery in 1961, Jean-Charles brought a Burgundian sensibility and a deep commitment to organic and biodynamic farming, converting DeLoach’s Russian River estate vineyard soon after the purchase. The winery itself was founded in 1970 by Cecil and Christine DeLoach, Russian River Valley pioneers who were among the first to bottle single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the region. Under Boisset, DeLoach continues that legacy of terroir-driven, site-specific wines.
