Francis Ford Coppola Winery feels different from almost every other tasting room in Sonoma. The Oscar-winning director conceived it as a 'wine wonderland': a place where wine sits at the center of food, music, games, and family, and the Geyserville estate delivers exactly that. Guests come for the wine, but stay for the resort-style swimming pool, four regulation bocce courts, a performing-arts Pavilion, and a gallery of memorabilia from films like The Godfather and Apocalypse Now. It is the most relaxed, energetic, and unapologetically fun winery day in Alexander Valley, and one of Northern Sonoma's most visited.

The property has deep roots: it was built in 1973 as the historic Chateau Souverain, and after the Coppola family purchased it in 2006 and renovated it, it reopened in 2010 as a full destination winery; Delicato Family Wines has owned it since 2021. Winemaking is led by Director of Winemaking Andrea Card. The flagship Diamond Collection (approachable, vividly fruited Cabernet, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and more) anchors a broad portfolio that also includes the site-specific Director's and Francis Coppola Reserve labels. On site, the Rustic restaurant serves Italian-leaning, Sonoma-sourced comfort food, and seasonal Cabines surround the pool. The tasting room is open Thursday through Monday and closed Tuesday and Wednesday: walk up to the Main Floor Tasting Bar, or book a seated flight such as the Feature Presentation or the Director's Table. The experience is built for families and groups as much as for serious tasters.
