The Pellegrini family has been in Sonoma wine since 1925, when brothers Nello and Gino arrived from Tuscany. Vincent and Aida Pellegrini planted the Olivet Lane Vineyard in 1975 — one of the first Russian River Valley Pinot plantings — with fourth-generation Alexia Pellegrini now running the estate.
Brothers Nello and Gino Pellegrini emigrated from Tuscany in the early 1900s and settled in the Santa Rosa Plains, a region whose climate and Italian community reminded them of home. Their first wines were made in 1925, and after Prohibition's repeal in 1933 they received Winegrower License No. 4. Vincent Pellegrini took over in the 1950s and expanded into wholesale distribution, and in 1973 Vincent and his wife Aida purchased a 70-acre apple and plum orchard on West Olivet Road. The family planted Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in 1975 — one of the earliest dedicated plantings of these varieties in what would become the Russian River Valley AVA.

The Olivet Lane Vineyard — named for the 120 olive trees flanking its east entrance — became a heritage source for many of the appellation's Pinot luminaries, including Williams Selyem, Merry Edwards, Gary Farrell, and Darioush. The Pellegrini winery itself, designed by Merry Edwards and completed in 2001, sits adjacent to the vineyard. Third-generation Robert Pellegrini and now fourth-generation Alexia Pellegrini run the estate, with Lynn Krausmann as winemaker since 2013 (an alumna of Williams Selyem, Mondavi, and Cloudy Bay). Production focuses on Olivet Lane Pinot Noir and Chardonnay plus single-vineyard selections of Pinot, Zinfandel, and Sauvignon Blanc.
Lynn Krausmann brought more than two and a half decades of experience to Pellegrini when she joined in 2013 to craft wines from the family's heritage Olivet Lane Vineyard, planted in 1975 on the Santa Rosa Plain. She holds a bachelor's degree from Lawrence University in Wisconsin and an enology degree from UC Davis, and her résumé spans winemaking roles at Esterlina and Williams Selyem, work at Clos du Bois, and an assistant winemaker post at Freemark Abbey, plus vintage experience at Robert Mondavi and Cloudy Bay in New Zealand. Her style favors balance over power, letting the cherry-and-mineral character of the old-vine Olivet Lane fruit speak. She counts founder Robert Pellegrini, who designed the winery as a small-lot winemaker's facility, as a mentor.
In 2017, Alexia Pellegrini took the reins from her father, Robert, becoming the fourth generation to steward a family name tied to California wine since the early 1900s, when brothers Nello and Gino Pellegrini arrived from Tuscany. She oversees and guides business operations at Olivet Lane — the heritage Russian River Valley estate her family planted to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in 1975, among the first vineyards in the region devoted to those two varieties. Under Alexia, Pellegrini continues its old-world, terroir-driven approach while holding Certified Sustainable status.
