A scientist by training, Nakaji holds a chemistry degree from UC Santa Barbara, a PhD in chemistry from Yale, and a master's in viticulture and enology from UC Davis, with harvest experience at Louis Latour in Burgundy and Tahbilk in Australia, as well as Acacia, V. Sattui, and Beaulieu Vineyard. At Sebastiani he crafts food-friendly, terroir-driven wines across the estate's Sonoma County tiers, with a particular reputation for its Cabernets.
