A restored 1901 bank vault in downtown Geyserville, teller cages and all, where winemaker Brook Bannister and his artist wife pour the family's elegant Sonoma Coast Pinot and Chardonnay alongside rare bottlings like orange Riesling and Sagrantino, amid a rotating art gallery and handmade design.

Bannister fills the Geyserville Vault (a 1901 bank, antique teller cages and steel safe intact) restored by winemaker Brook Bannister and his artist wife, Morgania, into a tasting room and rotating art gallery. The label was founded in 1989 by his mother, enologist Marty Bannister; Brook took the reins in 2016, bringing his own restless curiosity.
The wines run from the family's longtime Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir and Chardonnay to Brook's experiments (skin-fermented Riesling and Ribolla Gialla, Scheurebe, Sagrantino), single-vineyard and made in tiny lots, poured by the glass or in flights of six to seven small tastes. Settle in among the handmade furniture, order a pizza from Diavola next door, and stay a while. Open Thursday through Sunday.

Brook Bannister took over the family label in 2016, nearly three decades after his mother, enologist Marty Bannister, founded it. A former furniture designer and builder, he restored Geyserville's old bank building with his wife into a tasting room and gallery, and in the cellar he follows his curiosity, from Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir to skin-fermented whites and Sagrantino.

Morgania Moore is an artist and the founder of M.E. Moore Design, known for jewelry and lighting. With her husband, Brook Bannister, she restored Geyserville's historic bank into the Bannister tasting room, mixing its original vault and teller cages with furniture the couple made themselves, and the room doubles as a gallery with art exhibitions that rotate through the year.
