Locals is a Geyserville institution: a collective tasting room, owned by Carolyn Lewis, that pours wines from a roster of small artisan producers too tiny to keep their own rooms. No reservations, no pretension, and, refreshingly, no tasting fee. Just a relaxed counter and a knowledgeable host ready to guide you.
With dozens of bottles open on any given day (Italian varietals, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, and more from the rotating roster), the signature move is a side-by-side flight: pick a varietal and taste three versions at once to find your own preference. It's a low-key, generous way to discover wines you'll find nowhere else, and the pizzas at Diavola are right next door.
Owner & Winemaker
Dick Handal started his own label, Denier-Handal, in 2009 and joined the Locals roster of small producers in 2017. In December 2021 he and his daughter, Doralice, took over ownership of the Geyserville collective, keeping its signature side-by-side flights that let guests taste one variety from several different winemakers at once, with no reservations and no tasting fee.

Doralice Handal co-owns Locals Tasting Room with her father, winemaker Dick Handal; the two took over the Geyserville collective in December 2021.
