Sosie — French for 'look-alike' — makes California wine in the image of the Rhône, the Loire, and Burgundy: Grenache Blanc and Marsanne whites, Pinot Noir, Syrah, picked early for acidity and restraint. The tasting room sits on Vine Alley, off the square. Built for the table.

"Sosie" — French for look-alike or twin — captures the whole idea: California sun, French soul. Owners Scott MacFiggen and Regina Bustamante spent a dozen years tasting through the Loire, Rhône, and Burgundy before opening their room on Vine Alley, the European-style passage just off the south side of the Sonoma Plaza. They favor restraint over ripeness, finesse over flamboyance.

Tasting Highlights

French-Soul Flight — California-grown wines with French restraint — Rhône-style whites (Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Roussanne), Pinot Noir, and Syrah, made for acidity and the table.

Winemaker Kieran Robinson — whose résumé runs from the Finger Lakes to Côte-Rôtie to Napa — crafts roughly 1,000 cases a year: Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Rhône-style whites of Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, and Roussanne, and a rosé of Syrah, all lower in alcohol with bright natural acidity and the lightest touch of oak. Food-friendly by design. Tastings by appointment, walk-ins welcome.

Scott MacFiggen

Co-Founder & Winemaker

Sosie's co-founder and original winemaker, Scott left a Silicon Valley tech career after falling for the wines of France. He founded Sosie in 2015 to make restrained, Old-World-style California wines, chasing natural acidity over power.

Regina Bustamante

Co-Founder

Sosie's co-founder, Regina met Scott at after-work wine tastings during their Silicon Valley tech careers, then traded software for wine. She helps guide the winery's low-intervention, French-inspired approach.
