All Pinot, all the time. Scott and Marta Rich founded Talisman in 1993 with a single 203-case Pinot from Carneros; Scott had made wine at Etude, Marta spent eighteen years at Robert Mondavi. The name comes from a protective charm Scott's Native American mother once gave him. Their Glen Ellen tasting room fills the historic Roma Hotel building.

Tasting Highlights

Pinot Terroir Flight — six single-vineyard Pinot Noirs side by side — Carneros, Sonoma Coast, Sonoma Mountain, and beyond — a 90-minute study of place; also by the glass.

The focus never wavers: tiny single-vineyard Pinot Noirs — typically 200 to 300 cases each — from sites across Sonoma, Napa, and Mendocino, each bottled separately to show how dramatically place shapes the grape. The 90-minute terroir flight ($45) walks six vineyards side by side. Appointments encouraged, walk-ins welcome; settle in on the downtown patio.
