Marquee

Marquee is a bold, modern house in the Sonoma Valley, a short walk from Sonoma Golf Club and about a ten-minute drive from Sonoma Plaza. AvantStay manages it, and the home was professionally designed with one idea in mind: bringing a group of friends or family together for a few easy days in wine country. Its location makes the valley simple to explore. Valley of the Moon Winery is a couple of miles up the road, Maxwell Farms Regional Park is minutes away for a morning walk, and the Plaza holds the Mission, the Sonoma State Historic Park and tables such as The Girl & The Fig. The Sonoma Overlook Trail offers a view over town, and San Francisco is about 45 minutes south.

Inside, the family room is the gathering place, set up around a record player and a deep stash of board games, and the kitchen is well stocked for cooking as a group. The bedrooms include a king primary with its own bath, two queen rooms, a double, and a room with two twins, with floor mattresses on request. Most of the day, though, happens out back in the entertainer's courtyard, where covered dining and lounge areas sit around a sleek fire pit, a pool and a hot tub. Pool heat can be added for a fee from November through March with 48 hours' notice. The driveway and street hold up to six cars. Pets are not allowed, and quiet hours run from 9 pm to 7 am.
