Daryn Colledge, Jason Spitz, and Tony Moll met as NFL draftees and spent their playing days protecting quarterbacks, including Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers, before discovering they shared a passion for premium wine as strong as their love of the game. Three Fat Guys was born in 2006 from that friendship, built on a simple mission: great wine, zero pretense. The tasting room on Sonoma's Broadway feels less like a wine bar than a friend's backyard: garden seating, a fire pit, and hosts who'd rather tell a good story than recite tasting notes.

The Linemen Red & White Blends: the signature bottlings, named for the founders' position on the field.

Sonoma Coast Chardonnay: crisp, bright, and food-friendly.

The rotating flight spans both sides of the Mayacamas (the trio sources fruit from Sonoma and Napa alike) and typically includes Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, the signature Linemen red and white blends, and the sparkling Champion Brut. Walk-ins are genuinely welcome (reservations preferred only for groups and busy weekends), outside snacks are encouraged at the picnic tables, and the space seats up to fifty for private gatherings. It's one of the easiest, most unbuttoned tastings in Sonoma proper.

Tony Moll

Co-Founder, Proprietor & Winemaker

Tony Moll grew up in Sonoma, running through vineyards his family has tended for more than five generations. A tight end at the University of Nevada, he found his calling as a right guard in the NFL, playing from 2006 to 2012 for the Packers, Ravens, and Chargers, and it was that lucky April 2006 draft week in Green Bay that brought him together with Daryn Colledge and Jason Spitz, the friendship behind the Three Fat Guys name. After football and a stint in mortgage banking, Moll came home to Sonoma and went all-in on wine, eventually taking the role of full-time winemaker. These days you'll find him everywhere from the cellar and vineyards to the tasting room, pouring wines and happily trading Packers tales: serious wines under a name that lets guests' guard down. He also serves on the American Wine Society board.

Jim McMahon

Director of Winemaking

Jim McMahon is the veteran winemaker who helped shape Three Fat Guys from its earliest vintages, and conveniently, Tony Moll's literal next-door neighbor, a proximity the winery credits for years of late-night wine meetings and "Mailbox Fridays" that fueled the brand's growth. Jim's approach starts with quality fruit and solid fundamentals, but to him that's only the foundation: combining them with passion and pouring heart and soul into the process is how a good wine becomes superb. He has shared the stage with Moll at tastings and events for years, trading wine banter while Tony handles the football stories.
