ACTA is one of Alexander Valley's youngest estates and one of its most deliberate. Dustin Moilanen (a winemaker with nearly two decades in production, sales, and education, including over ten years at ZD Wines) founded the winery with his family in the spring of 2021 on a 16-acre Highway 128 property with deep roots of its own: the former White Oak Vineyards & Winery estate, home to Bill Myers' pioneering Alexander Valley label from 1981 until its closure. Two years of renovation followed before ACTA opened hospitality in autumn 2023. The name is the thesis: ACTA NON VERBA, deeds not words, carried through to the proprietary red blend called DEEDS. Production stays intentionally tiny, with lots often limited to just a few barrels each.

The portfolio reaches across Sonoma's best cool and warm sites: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley, plus two limited-production Cabernet Sauvignons, one from the Chalk Hill region of Alexander Valley, one from Yountville in Napa. The Founder's Tasting ($50, about 90 minutes) seats guests in the indoor lounge or on the vineyard-wrapped outdoor patio, with a red-focused tasting offered in the lounge, patio, or private rooms. Seasonal experiences go deeper: winemaker-hosted barrel tastings in the Wine Library Cave, and an outdoor-kitchen pairing of woodfired flatbreads made with ACTA Estate olive oil and produce from the organic gardens. Guests are invited to stroll the olive grove between pours.
