Corner 103 occupies a glass-walled corner of the historic Plaza, in the old Feed Store building, where founder Lloyd Davis, a former New York finance executive who turned around Viansa before building his own label, has created one of the country's most decorated tasting rooms, twice named best in the U.S. by USA Today readers.
The signature is a seated, food-paired journey through seven Sonoma AVAs (sparkling rosé from Carneros, Sonoma Coast Chardonnay, Russian River Pinot, Dry Creek Zinfandel, Alexander Valley Merlot, Sonoma Valley Cabernet), each pour matched to a small bite and explained. The mission throughout is to make wine approachable, never intimidating. Reservations recommended.
Founder
Lloyd Davis grew up in New York City and spent more than 30 years in banking and finance, then advised a major New York wine retailer. In 2008 he took control of Viansa Winery and returned it to profitability. He founded Corner 103 so guests could learn every side of wine in a friendly, unintimidating and fun setting.
General Manager
Brent Johnson, known to all as Boomer, started at Viansa Winery in 2008 as a sales associate and rose to tasting room manager over seven years. He now runs Corner 103 as general manager. He holds a business management degree from Sonoma State University and spends his time off traveling, golfing and outdoors.
